COURSE & CURRICULUM OUTLINE:

Instruction is given so that with successful completion a student will be prepared for the State Licensing Exam, and for possible employment as a: Hair Stylist, Salon Manager, Salon Owner, Hair Coloring Tech., Makeup Artist, Demonstrator, Sales Person, a Manufacturers representative, a Manicurist or Nail Technician.

The Academy’s curriculum is a 2,000 hour program which may be completed in approximately 12 to 17 months not including Leaves of Absence.

  1)    Manicuring  ......................................................  125   hours
  2)    Chemical Services  ...........................................  530   hours
                        Hair Coloring & Lightening   
                        Perm Waving & Texturizing   
                        Chemical Relaxing   
  3)    Hair Styling & Shampooing  ........................... 260 hours        
  4)    Esthetics ........................................................... 150    hours

  5)    Hair Shaping.................................................... 205    hours

  6)    State Laws & Rules ............................................ 40    hours

  7)    Shop Management, Business Methods, & Ethics .. 110 hrs
  8)    Bacteriology, Sanitation, Safety, Anatomy ........
80  hours

  9)    Remaining  500  hours  at  schools  discretion.
   
Because curriculum requirements are established by law; they shall be strictly complied with until revised.
The Academy will supplement and enrich the minimum requirements specified by the Montana State Board of Barbers & Cosmetologists.
